Description

Join us for a weekend of general stoke-and-skill-building centered around FTW-NB folks on bikes! We’ll have sessions on everything from climbing hills to the best trail meals for the end of your day. Learn how to pack your bike, fix a flat, fuel your body, and even bunny hop, just in time to prepare you to end the summer with dreamy gravel rides! This weekend, hosted by RAR NHV, brings a dream-team of experienced BIPOC FTW-NB Counselors to share their expertise and trail magic. Gravel Camp will be a choose-your-own-adventure camp, with clinics, workshops, panels, and rides scheduled over the weekend. We’ll learn, ride, eat, and sleep at the amazing Camp Cedarcrest, over the weekend of August 5th! ProgrammingOur team of BIPOC FTWN-B facilitators will nurture the skills needed for you to confidently take on a new type of bike-adventuring in the outdoors and to share that knowledge with your communities. Technical Sessions + Skill-Building Rides: These workshops will teach a variety of necessary skills for gravel and mountain biking including climbing hills, descending on tricky terrain, getting over obstacles, how to choose lines, and how to shift and brake safely on rough terrain. Workshops: These workshops will prepare you for successful rides by learning to fuel and hydrate effectively, plan and navigate routes, and prepare for everything with the right gear and clothing. We'll empower you by teaching common emergency repairs, and how to maintain you bike for many more rides to come! And above all, Community Building! Gravel Camp is a time for friendship! You can make new friends, meet ride partners and build deeper bonds in the FTWN-B BIPOC rider community. We'll facilitate fun through games, storytelling, and “speed dating” style events.
