Description

Perspectives from the Bench: Avoiding Ethical Landmines Join the Honorable Michael Romero and the Honorable Casey Parker for an in person CLE and networking event at the Downtown Denver Sheraton. This distinguished panel of judges will address the ethical landmines they've seen explode in their courts and the relevant rules of professional conduct. The program will touch on (i) frivolous claims, (ii) the duty to stay abreast of current laws, (iii) the perils of taking on too many cases at once, (iv) conflicts of interest catastrophes, (v) the dangers of refusing to admit you made a mistake, (vi) unacceptable negotiation tactics, (vii) inappropriate interactions with judges, and (viii) when and how sanctions come into play. Don’t despair! The judges will also review best practices and give you the tools to avoid these pitfalls. Stick around for a post-CLE networking social hour at the Sheraton's poolside rooftop reception area. Enjoy complimentary appetizers and beverages and an amazing view. If you have any questions or topics you would be interested in having the panel address, you can email us in advance at [email protected]. Thank you to our sponsor Markus Williams & Young LLC!
