Hi Neighbors! I’m a Special Education Director at a school in Oakland. I’m posting to gauge interest around support with the entire Special Education process for your kiddo. This could look like reviewing your kiddo’s IEP, educating parents on their rights and the IEP process, observing the student’s educational environment and interventions being offered, collaborating on action steps with parents and providers, and acting as an advocate inside and outside of IEP meetings to ensure your kiddo receives all the support they deserve. I’m considering stepping away from the school environment to offer these services full time because I’ve heard countless stories from parents struggling to receive the support they need for their kiddo.
