Description
The FAC is hiring a few people to focus on traffic safety the day of the parade.
In this role, you will mostly be standing away from the main parade route at a designated location on a side street. You will work with parade captains and monitors over the radio we will assign you to help shut streets down, re-route traffic during the parade, and re-open streets at the end. In the case of an emergency, you might be called on the radio to assist fellow parade personnel at another nearby location. You should be able to stand or walk for a few hours, move traffic signs, and politely redirect drivers to keep the streets clear. You will likely have limited-to-no-view of the parade. However, this role is very important because it keeps the side streets clear in case an emergency vehicle needs to get through, helping to make sure that everyone stays safe.
This role is from 11 AM - 5 PM on parade day (Saturday June 18) and pays $20/hr. There will be a short training provided beforehand. Reply to this Email to express your interest.
