Description
Advantage+, Brookfield, Wis.-based nationwide direct lender marked its thirtieth anniversary in business with a celebration on June 14, 2022.
Advantage+ was founded thirty years ago by Larry Elton and Dick Hack, both former bankers, who believed they could help small businesses by providing them with equipment financing options. While the founders' original plans were to build the company and possibly sell it, they found that it was better to hold onto the business and retain it for future generations to decide.
Mike Elton, son of Larry Elton and now CEO of Advantage+ said, "I'm proud of the fact that we've developed a culture that's more like family than a company. Our team has a common mission: to be the best at small business lending and relationship building."
Advantage+, founded in 1992, offers equipment loans from $5,000 to $200,000 and working capital loans up to $50,000. One-third of its new loans are to existing or previous customers. The company also provides customer finance programs for manufacturers, distributors, and dealers.
Advantage+ has lent more than $500 million dollars to more than 20,000 businesses. Its managers and a few outside investors own the company. The company augments its growing capital base with loans from partner banks with managers that support small-business and free-market capitalism.
