2022-06-14
For many years, the University of Charleston has offered strong programs for those interested in developing their leadership skills. To provide that same opportunity for younger students, UC will offer "Building Resilience in a Complex World," a Leadership Immersion program open to high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and 2022 high school graduates.
Leadership skills can be utilized to excel in school, career, involvement in organizations, and more. They can boost confidence, decision making, goal setting, critical thinking, and team building.
Registration deadline is July 20, and all who complete the program will earn a leadership certificate. Cost for the program is $25.00.
Through learning activities, transformative learning experiences, team building and development exercises, and a Leadership Capstone Project, students will learn to:
Enhance their self-awareness and sense of empowerment
Demonstrate an understanding of leadership concepts
Develop stronger communication, team building, and critical thinking skills
Learn to collaborate and build relationships more effectively
Demonstrate an increased ability to explain an issue or problem
Learn to apply a range of problem-solving applications
