MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Two people were charged and $17,000 in cocaine was seized in Mercer County, Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Wednesday. A "ghost gun," Ruger .357 handgun, and a revolver were also seized, authorities said. This comes after a month-long investigation into narcotics distribution in the Trenton area. Jose Azcona, 24, and Borges-Navarro, 33, were each charged with numerous narcotics and weapons offenses. Around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, authorities executed search warrants at multiple Trenton locations. While at the apartment of Borges-Navarro, officers saw him open a window on the eighth floor and throw two duffle bags out. Detectives found a loaded Ruger .357 handgun and approximately 170 grams of cocaine strewn on the ground and on a parked vehicle, Onofri said. In the duffel bags, authorities also found a four-ton, heavy-duty bottle jack and a large silver press commonly used to press powder cocaine into kilograms. A small quantity of cocaine was also found in the apartment bathroom and on the window ledge, Onofri said. While searching Azcona's home in the 500 block of West State Street, detectives retrieved a loaded black and tan "Ghost Gun" and a loaded black and silver revolver, Onofri said. During processing, detectives discovered that Borges-Navarro was using an alias and that his real name is Juan Antonio Sanchez. Authorities said Sanchez is wanted for a 2019 shooting in Reading, Pennsylvania. The prosecutor's office has filed motions to detain both men pending trial. Members of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations and the Trenton Police Department were involved in the operation.
