MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The Morris County Sheriff's Office welcomed seven new officers and investigators this week. The new officers took the oath of office, received their Office identification and were presented with their commissions of service to the people of Morris County during an official swearing-in ceremony presided over by Sheriff James M. Gannon. Officers Benjamin Carroll, Dakota Palmer, Evan Ruggiero and Nicholas Williams were sworn in as Sheriff's deputies during the ceremony. Investigator Gunner Nunn, Investigator Ryan Wood and Investigator Sean Rice were also sworn in as Sheriff's Investigators. During the ceremony, Gannon emphasized the Sheriff's Office's extensive number of supporting law enforcement and community service roles it provides to the people of Morris County, and how this translates to a range of opportunities for the newly sworn officers and investigators as they work in their new assignments. Many of the new officers had prior experience in the military, volunteer emergency services, various levels of higher education, community service and other civil service employment. A few of the officers had legacy ties to law enforcement. All of the sworn officers and investigators are excited to embark on their new careers, Gannon said.
