Position: Technical Director / Maintenance Technician Company Name: The Haunted Farm Company Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States SUMMARY The Haunted House Maintenance and Technical Entertainment Manager should have strong electrical and mechanical engineering experience, including, but not limited to, animatronic and pneumatic programming, fabrication, environmental atmospheric coordination. They will be responsible for all technical and mechanical systems from now until the end of seasonal operation of a live haunted attraction (ends Nov. 10th). They will serve as the technical manager throughout the 2022 seasonal operations and event breakdown. Contracted Position. Initial contract period is through the end of the 2022 Halloween Event Season. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Experience with Electrical Work. Experience with Mechanical Work. (possibly including metal fabrication) Experience with Animatronic Work. Technical Theatre experience (preferred but not required). Must have a Valid Driver’s License. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to weekend, evenings, and possibly holidays (Halloween) if necessary to meet production and/or seasonal needs. Ability to Communicate effectively and professionally with Managers, Assistants, Vendors and other support staff. This includes creation of documents, spreadsheets, and basic technical documents as needed for planning, maintenance, and production. Strong Organizational Skills. Strong "Handyman" Skills. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, bending, using ladders and electronic lifts, when necessary. Willingness to remain flexible to other duties as assigned. Ability to remain calm under high-stress and high-pressure situations during Live Operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* *Includes, but is not limited to. *NOTE: This is NOT a primarily 'desk job', not a traditional 'IT job'. This is a hands-on and versatile position. Assists with planning and execution of all technical aspects of Electrical, Mechanical, and Technical ongoing Operations. Programming, Installation, Upkeep, Maintenance and Management of most technical equipment. Design, Installation, and Coordination of all technical systems and operations for all indoor and outdoor areas of a large haunted house attraction, including animatronics, lighting, audio, and other atmospheric elements. Development, Coordination, Documentation, and Implementation of proper safety training and operations protocols as necessary for all Support Staff, Managers, and Acting Staff. Coordination with Owners, Vendors, Managers, Designers, Support Staff, and any other necessary departments to maintain that all electrical, animatronic, audio, lighting, and other scenic/atmospheric elements maintain optimal and designed timing/operation to specifications during Live Operations.
