Press release from the City of Ames: June 10, 2022 Opal Circle and Opal Drive from Crystal Street to Opal Circle will be closed to traffic beginning Tuesday, June 14, weather permitting. This closure is necessary for construction of a new road. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. to complete this project, which will begin with pavement removal, followed by ground preparation for paving operations, and then installation of a new asphalt road. This work is expected to be complete in two to three weeks. All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
