PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pennsylvania woman who pleaded guilty in shooting death of an FBI agent in 2011 has been released from prison, a report said.
Christina Korbe left a federal detention center in Philadelphia on Tuesday, according to WTAE.
In 2008, a team of law enforcement officers raided the home Korbe shared with her husband in Indiana Township. The officers were trying to arrest Korbe's husband on drug charges.
Korbe said she fired her gun because she thought they were being robbed. Special Agent Samuel Hicks was the first person in the door, and Korbe's shot went into his chest.
In 2011, Korbe pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and a firearms charge. Prosecutors dropped charges of murder of a federal officer, drug-trafficking conspiracy and weapons counts.
Korbe was sentenced to 15 years and 10 months in prison, according to WTAE. She and her attorneys asked for a reduced sentence several times, including in 2020 when Korbe reportedly got COVID-19.
