Buckingham Police Make Arrest In Peddler's Village Thefts

BUCKINGHAM, PA —A Berks County man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of retail thefts at Peddler's Village in Lahaska. On June 4, Buckingham Township Police arrested Francis Templin and charged him with felony retail theft. He was released on unsecured bail. Police also seized Templin's car and executed a search warrant. Police are now in the process of identifying merchandise found inside the vehicle. Since December 2021, Peddler's Village has been experiencing retail thefts in various stores. During an investigation, police discovered that a surveillance camera had captured the image of a tall white male, possibly over the age of 60 years, stealing a computer. On May 29, another merchant reported the theft of several pieces of merchandise. The theft was also caught on security camera and the man matched the description of previous thefts from December. The same man again returned to the village on June 4. His presence was immediately reported to the police who encountered the man at approximately 1:30 p.m. The man was identified as Francis Templin and was taken into custody. His car was located in the parking area of Peddler's Village and was seized by investigators. The investigation is continuing and Templin is expected to be charged with other incidents related to retail theft.
