ST. MICHAEL, MN — Hundreds of motorcycles are expected to take off from St. Michael on Saturday morning on a ride to support three local residents fighting cancer.
Registration for the 15th annual Chad Smith Ride for Life Bike Run is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Saturday, with riders to depart at 10:30 a.m. from Ditto's Bar, according to organizers.
Funds raised through the Ride for Life will be given to Karen Dehmer, Patricia Vetsch and Stephanie Sterk.

Dehmer was diagnosed in January with stage 4 systemic light chain amyloidosis, while Vetsch was diagnosed in October 2020 with a glioblastoma tumor, organizers said.
Sterk was diagnosed in May 2020 with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer and cannot undergo conventional treatments, according to organizers.
"Please come out and support these amazing families in their time of need!!!" organizers wrote on Facebook.

The Bike Run will take motorcyclists on a ride that's about 140 miles before a celebration at Ditto's Bar on Saturday evening.
