4 hour introduction to rifle safety and marksmanship in a defensive context.
This is a 4 hour entry level class for new shooters, as well as more experienced shooters who want to refine their fundamental shooting and marksmanship skills with a carbine.
The class is geared toward the defensive use of a modern day carbine (AR/AK/Tavor etc.).
By the end of the class new shooters will be able to safely handle and use a carbine and be familiarized with its use.
Class size is limited to six students in order to maintain a good instructor to student ratio, giving each shooter plenty of personal attention.
This class will cover:
-Firearms safety and handling
-Zeroing
-Stance
-Grip
-Sight picture and alignment
-Trigger control
-Presentation
-Magazine changes
-Marksmanship at close distances
Required Gear:
-Carbine in good working order (AR/AK/Tavor etc.) with aiming device (iron sights, red dot, low power scope etc.) - guns can be rented from the Louisville armory
-200 rounds of factory loaded ammunition
-At least 3 working magazines
-Weapon sling - optional for this class
-Magazine pouches for two extra magazines
-Eye/ear protection - can be rented from Louisville Armory
-Closed toed shoes comfortable for movement
