Like many other school systems across the country, TCS is facing a bus driver shortage as it plans transportation for roughly 7,000 students each day over 180 routes.
At present, TCS says it has approximately 15 bus driver positions available, with training provided and starting pay at $21 per hour.
TCS also provide benefits — including Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance — and state retirement. TCS said the positions require four hours of work per day, with more hours if wanted, and the option for summers off.
The school system also will provide a $1,000 sign on bonus for first 15 drivers hired.
