Here are the top three stories today in Mountain Brook: Julianne Abenoja, from Mountain Brook, will be representing Alabama this summer at a national competition in Mobile for the title of Distinguished Young Woman and the chance to win $150,000 in scholarships. Abenoja will be attending The College of William & Mary where she plans to study neuroscience. "I'm definitely representing the entire state but also the other 45 participants that I met at the state program who I think any one of them could have been up there with me," she said. "They're amazing, intelligent, driven, and all talented." (WVTM13 Birmingham)Mountain Brook resident Norman Jetmundsen recently completed his feature-length documentary, "Unrivaled: Sewanee 1899." It tells the story of the Sewanee: The University of the South football team, which in 1899 became the first school in the south to play a 12-game season in six weeks, with 21 players–undefeated.
