Press release from the City of Rochester: June 13, 2022 The City of Rochester is seeking community input regarding the use of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Consolidated Planning process is a requirement for direct financial assistance under certain HUD funding programs including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs, the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program, and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program. The City has prepared the 2022-23 Annual Action Plan for the program year beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, which identifies the activities that will be undertaken to address 2020-24 Consolidated Plan priority needs and goals. The City anticipates receiving the following grants from HUD for the period beginning July 1: In addition, the City anticipates programming $450,000 in CDBG Program Income and $200,000 in HOME Program Income in its 2022-23 Annual Action Plan. The draft 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan can be viewed on the City of Rochester's Consolidated Plan project webpage: www.cityofrochester.gov/Consol... and at other locations listed below. The draft plan is subject to change based on public comment received during the 30-day public comment period and any changes to the funding awards announced by HUD. 30-Day Public Display and Comment Period: Copies of the draft 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan will be made available for review at the following locations beginning today, June 13, for a 30-day public display and comment period: Written comments can be submitted via:• Digital survey found at: www.CityofRochester.gov/ConsolidatedPlan2020• Email: [email protected]• US Mail: HUD Program Management, City Hall Room 224-B, 30 Church Street, Rochester, NY 14614.City Council Approval and Submission to HUD: The City anticipates bringing the 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan to City Council for formal action on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The final 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan must be submitted to HUD no later than August 5. Public Hearing #1: An online Public Hearing on the draft 2022-23 Annual Action Plan will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22. At the Hearing City staff will review the proposed plan and solicit input from the public. Public Hearing #2: The final Public Hearing on the draft 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan will take place at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 in conjunction with the City Council Committee Meeting, prior to formal action by City Council on Tuesday, July 19. The public may attend, observe and present oral comments in-person at the Council Chambers, Third Floor, City Hall Room 301A, 30 Church Street.
