Goodwill NNE is currently looking for a Building Maintenance Technician to aid in the property maintenance of our Residential Group Homes, Retail Stores, and Administrative Offices. Goodwill Northern New England — good works here! The Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level position within the organization. Activities are performed in order to maintain and improve the safety, appearance, and operation of Agency facilities and grounds. Ensures all work is completed according to ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Building and Facility Maintenance: • Assist Maintenance Techs I & II in the performance of scheduled and preventative maintenance and unscheduled/necessary maintenance and repairs as required. • Perform minor tasks such as painting, patching drywall, and clearing clogged drains with minimal supervision. Grounds Maintenance: • Provides lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal services for Agency facilities Communication: • Demonstrated ability to follow directions while relying on experience to perform actual repairs or maintenance. Knowledge: • May work flexible hours and is available on-call in order to respond to calls for emergency repairs, as instructed by the Property Management leadership. • Demonstrated ability to organize time and materials to meet assigned deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to recognize tools and supplies needed for a particular assignment. • Required to perform Daily safety checks on assigned Agency vehicles and adhere to all Agency vehicle policies Administration: • Supports construction projects for Agency facilities and ensures that all projects are completed and according to ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications. • General knowledge of computer-related tasks for job documentation as required Requirements: • A high school diploma or GED required • Ability to handle strenuous activities including heavy lifting • Ability to communicate professionally and politely • Valid driver’s license permitting operation of a vehicle in the States of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont with a satisfactory driving record • A criminal background check that meets Agency standards • COVID vaccine Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience in the construction industry or equivalent experience and or knowledge.
