Gnadenhutten OH

Description

$17/hr.Part Time work testing concrete with ability to refuse call out. The heavy highway and bridge construction industry is funded almost entirely by taxes on the gasoline and diesel we all buy. Contracts are awarded and projects are completed no matter the economic or political problems. There is no recession proof industry, but the heavy highway and bridge construction industry works when most others are laid off. We offer free training with options to be tested by American Concrete Institute examiners for your ACI Field Testing Technician Certification. After certification, we will add you to our laboratory roster of certified technicians qualified to test concrete on state and federal construction projects. See here for information on ACI accreditation: We are an AASHTO accredited construction materials testing laboratory located in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. We are currently hiring ACI Certified Concrete Field Testing Technicians Level I paying $17/hr. from the time you leave our lab in Gnadenhutten until you return. You will be driving a company vehicle and will need to show a valid operators license and submit to Ohio BWC drug screening. Our work is sporadic and the need for technicians varies from day to day. You may not be called for days and then get a call that would inform you of the work involved, the date (we usually get 1-2 days notice) and the place. If you are available you do the work, if you are not available, we thank you for your time and let you know that we will call again. If you are not currently ACI certified, we will train you and have you tested by ACI examiners at our laboratory. This process should take 2 separate days. After securing the ACI Field Testing Technician Level I certification, you will possess a micro-certification that is valid for 5 years and will be in demand anywhere in the country that has any public works concrete construction. The physical requirements are that you are able to occasionally handle concrete testing equipment and wheelbarrows weighing 40-50 pounds. This is not a job for a person looking for an income stream on which to raise a family. This is a job for a man or woman who is self employed or retired, who would like to learn a micro-credentialed skill, likes to work outside, but doesn't want to be tied down to a work schedule.
