Description

FREE weekly martial arts class at Railroad Park, every Wednesday from 11 pm to midnight. One hour class. Open to men and women, ages 18 and up. This is not a gimmick. This class is permanently free for as long as it lasts. My only requirements are that if you're going to attend, be consistent. My name is Wael. Some of you may remember the legendary martial arts classes that I taught over the last 13 years at Tenaya Park, Kaiser Park and Zoe Eden Hall. I'm teaching Silat, Kali and Hapkido at Railroad Park in Clovis, located at Alluvial and Peach. Every Wednesday from 11 pm to midnight. I have other paid classes, but this class will be free. You will be required to sign a legal waiver. It's okay if you have no experience, or if you're overweight, or if you have previous injuries. We will find a level you can work at. THE ART: Silat and Kali. Two of the most effective martial arts ever created. Close quarters combat, self defense, knife defense, joint locks, takedowns and throws, and more. Classes will consist of about 1/2 empty hand self defense and 1/2 knife defense, including empty hands vs knife and knife vs knife (we use rubber training knives). TIME: Every Wednesday, 11 pm to midnight. Starts June 15th. INSTRUCTOR: Wael Abdelgawad. Black belts in Hapkido, Kempo, and Japanese Jujitsu, and instructor in Silat and Kali. 42 years of continuous martial arts experience. Trained with top instructors including Stuart Quan, James Olson, Dan Inosanto, Maul Mornie, Michael Seamark and Irie Yasuhiro. LOCATION: Railroad Park, Clovis. COST: None. YOU WILL NEED: Nothing in the beginning, but eventually you'll need a groin cup, hockey or lacrosse gloves, and a fencing helmet. This class is oriented toward effective self defense, exercise, comradeship, and mutual respect. My classes are not ego driven. If you are interested in acquiring rank, I can promote you in Sabeel Combatives, which is my own blend of Silat, Kali, Hapkido and Jujitsu. Rank advancement is difficult and takes dedication and time. MY WEBSITE: MY YOUTUBE:
