Come hang out with us on July 10th from 5pm-7pm at Fairy Friendly Farm where we will be hosting our dear friend Peace Rider AKA Catherine Hunter. Hear stories of being lost in the mountains with no food or water. Share feelings of doubt and despair when there was no shelter for the night. Experience blessed relief and renewal of faith as perfect strangers stepped up to help. Journey with Peace Rider, Catherine Hunter, and her Thoroughbred horse, Count of War, as she offers stories of her nearly 1,000 mile ride from South Carolina to Ground Zero in New York City. Catherine and Count rode completely alone, with no back up vehicle, carrying only a spare blanket, an extra pair of jeans and a bag of oats, stowed in their saddle bags. Hear what inspired an historical cavalry reenactor, suffering from traumatic brain injury, to take such a formidable journey to spread the word of world peace. Find out how together, Catherine and Count, faced tremendous challenges of fear and faith, learned how to suspend judgement and discovered how to receive help and inspiration from unlikely sources. “I remember days when I was on some lonely, backroad, hundreds of miles from home, and it would suddenly hit me how very alone I was,” said Catherine. “Then someone would stop to offer a bottle of water, or assure me I was on the right road, and I would have the strength to keep going—just a little farther.” We will picnic by the creek and have time to ask questions, go on a tour of our Micro Farm and get a small idea of how easy it is to farm on your own!! As an historical cavalry reenactor, she brings a unique and personal perspective to the subject of peace. Catherine is also a lifetime horse lover and professional horse woman. She currently helps horses and riders overcome fear, pain and confusion, discover a deeper connection and find peace, harmony and balance riding together.
