Hi we are a new philly-based band named moondrifts seeking 2 bandmates. We are currently 2 multi-instrumentalists, one of us is mostly singing and playing electric guitar, one of us is mostly playing bass. Seeking a drummer, and also additional guitar or synth/keys or electric violin/viola (basically someone to hang out in the high end with harmonies, melodies, leads, atmosphere, noise), vocal harmonies would be great too! Or if you're a bassist and excited about this, please be in touch too as we could switch instruments on different songs. We are both queer, in our late 30's, and we are open to playing with people of any age. We have good communication around covid and community care. We would love to play shows and record. At the moment there's a primary songwriter, with all bandmembers encouraged to write their own parts, shape & change the songs with their ideas. Super into having multiple songwriters in the group as well, and / or writing collaboratively from scratch. We also might write some angry angular riot-grrl punk. We also love jazz, r&b, soul, pop, edm, shoegaze, emo, ambient, metal, hip-hop, folk and country, classical & noise. We're not really any of those genres but threads of everything we love probably get mixed in at least a little bit! Lyrics on nature, trans rights, trauma & healing, abolition, ecological crisis / survival, and a fun queer love song here and there too. Please say hi if you want to join in!
