Primary Responsibilities: • Under supervision and independently, works on the diverse range of activities involved in the golf course maintenance and construction, does semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and performs related task as required. Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains all cutting equipment, tractors, EZ-GO Golf Car fleet, utility vehicles and general tools fleet for Tahquitz Creek: • Has Experience working on Toro, Jacobson, and John Deere equipment • Has knowledge to repair and rebuild gas and diesel power engines. • Diagnoses and trouble shoots electrical problems with equipment. • Maintains a clean and safe repair facility. • Properly knows how to sharpen real’s, bed knifes and back lap cutting units. • Operates all golf course equipment. • Properly knows how to set heights on all cutting units. • Able to budget and inform Superintendent when equipment cost are high. • Assists with fertilizer applications on trees, tees, fairways, and rough areas. • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. • Does all purchasing for maintenance equipment. • Has knowledge to repair hydraulic motor, hydraulic hoses, oil changes. • Keeps records of maintenance on equipment and schedules routine maintenance. • Does monthly inventory, reports any lost/stolen tools, equipment, parts, etc. • Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times with Associates and Supervisors. • Notifies Golf Course Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent if supplies run low and if supplies are needed to do the task on hand. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent ; Two years’ experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: • May be required to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences. Physical Demands: • Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands to finger feels or handle. Occasionally reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances; stoops kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears and lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lifts more than 50 pounds. Environment/Noise: • Frequently works in the outdoors weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat and/or cold humid conditions. • Works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in high precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
