MID Construction Group is one of LA's fastest growing General Contractors. We're focused on multifamily and commercial projects in LA County & Orange County, yet we're capable of handling almost any type of project. We're looking for an experienced and self-motivated estimator to join our team. You must have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Immediate start available upon completion of interview process. Job Responsibilities: - Will assist the construction management team in accurate planning and budgeting for projects. - Review and analyze the scope of work, drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects. - Estimate Indirect costs including management, construction equipment, tools, labor, and support facilities. - Prepare, analyze and maintain accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from plans. - Provide market analysis on cost comparison. - Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs. - Develop cost estimates by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and/or sub-contractors. - Examine construction sites using Google & Other Digital tools to observe unusual or challenging conditions as needed. - Generate quote requirements and scope letters to send to subcontractors to obtain accurate proposals and solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications. - Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods. - Maintain a database of Subcontractors and Material Vendors. Skills and Qualifications: - B.S. in construction, engineering, architecture and other related fields - Familiar with construction softwares (Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.) - Time management - Attention to detail - Strong communication skills - Critical thinking
