Description

Immerse yourself in experiences at Frostburg State University! The Office of Admissions invites School Counselors to campus for a great conversation, a look at why students are choosing Frostburg State, and discuss your students who are choosing FSU! Led by Dr. Thomas Striplin, EdD, school counselors will engage in a conversation to discuss first generation students and their transition to college. He’ll highlight key topics and information that first generation students and families need to know as they navigate their college search process. Dr. Striplin will provide a suggested checklist for both counselors and students to help students and families navigate the college process. Through conversation and brainstorming, participants will have a few strategies to support first generation students through the college process. Our goal is that counselors to leave that day with a better understanding of the phenomenal opportunities that await their students at Frostburg State — with the added bonus of related and useful professional content. Counselors will receive an FSU Spirit Box to take to their high schools and data about their students who are interested in Frostburg State. Feel free to share this event with your colleagues – the more the merrier! Brunch in the ‘Burg Thursday, August 2nd, 2022 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Frostburg State University Guest Speaker Dr. Thomas Striplin President Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College
