Event Description: 50 minute panel discussion with diverse group of local healthcare leadership, speaking about their careers, building a network, etc. Questions to include topics: 1. Positioning yourself for professional advancement 2. Understanding and developing a personal brand 3. Clarifying your unique market value and the segment of the industry that is a best fit4. Networking and social media for career growth5. The value of a mentor or coach in advancing professional growth 6. Identifying your values and strengths and gauging alignment with those of current and future healthcare organizations 7. Using volunteer and service experience to enhance your resume 8. The importance of being involved in professional organizations 9. Understanding how the ACHE credential can advance career growth After panel, we will break into 10 min breakout rooms (per panelist) to engage in conversations with early to late careerists to discuss more about personal pathways and advice. Once breakout rooms close, all participants will return to “main room” to ask questions in the remaining 10 minutes Panelists: • Sandra Hong, MD – Regional Medical Director, Cleveland Clinic South Region • Lauren Allyn – Department Administrator, University Hospitals • Lisa Minor – Senior Director Global Leadership & Learning, Cleveland Clinic Individual breakout rooms per topic Moderator: • Anthony Warmuth – Executive Director Clinical Transformation, Cleveland Clinic Bios of panelists: Sandra Hong, MD Sandra Hong, MD, is a staff physician, Medical Director for the Food Allergy Center of Excellence, Physician lead of Scribes and Director of the Medical Observation and Scribe Training Fellowship. After completing a BS from the University of Akron in Ohio, Dr. Hong received her medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. She performed her internship and residency at Summa Health System, Akron, and her specialty training through a fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was appointed to Cleveland Clinic in 2005. Dr. Hong is a Regional Medical Director of Cleveland Clinic’s South Region. Lauren Allyn Lauren Allyn currently serves as the Radiation Oncology Department Administrator for University Hospitals. In this role she oversees all operational activity for a department that comprises of six fully owned locations, three joint ventures, and 26 physicians. Prior to joining University Hospitals Lauren spent almost five years with Cleveland Clinic. She started her career with Cleveland Clinic as an Assistant Administrator in Digital Health supporting the enterprise in digital health strategic initiatives. Her most recent role with Cleveland Clinic was spent as Program Manager with Taussig Cancer Institute where she oversaw the cancer center’s affiliations and acquisitions. Lauren completed an Administrative Fellowship with Rush University Medical Center and received her MHA with George Washington University. Lisa Minor Lisa M. Minor, MBA, CPC is Senior Director, Mandel Global Leadership and Learning Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. In Lisa’s role, she leads the strategic direction of employee onboarding and development for more than 70,000 caregivers worldwide. In addition, Lisa leads the organization’s continuous listening strategy that connects employee’s voices with innovative solutions to achieve caregiver engagement and development. Lisa strives to impact Cleveland Clinic’s vision of being the best place to work in healthcare by directing organizational alignment efforts with innovative solutions that unite employees with opportunities to learn and grow. Lisa is a certified professional coach. In her 11 years at Cleveland Clinic, she’s provided both performance and development coaching to physician leaders, executives and leaders alike. Her coaching style can be described as humble, kind, empathetic and challenging when appropriate. Lisa holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and an undergraduate degree in Communication and Culture from Indiana University, Bloomington. Lisa lives in Avon Lake, OH with her husband Chad, two young boys, Harrison and Henry and their Great Dane, Sienna. XXXX As an independent chartered chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Northern Ohio Early Careerist Chapter, is authorized to award a total of 1.5 hours of ACHE Qualified Education credits toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualified Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.
