Build Up! is about growing a strong community of tradeswomen and allies through conversation and teambuilding! We will acknowledge the issues that tradeswomen face on the job and work together to come up with steps that we can take to improve job sites for not just the sisters, but everyone involved! This is a closed event for tradeswomen and their construction allies. Stay tuned for a CoWIT-sponsored family picnic this fall that will be open to everyone! Tentative Schedule: 8:00-9:00: Registration, coffee and continental breakfast 9:15-9:30: Welcome/Introductions 9:35-10:35: Building the Sisterhood: Small Group Teambuilding 10:40-12:00: Tradeswomen Panel: Exchange conversation with a panel of tradeswomen from different backgrounds and histories in the field 12:00-12:45: Box Lunch, Hands-on Activities, Networking 12:50-2:00: Let’s Get Political! Panel of local women decision makers that are working toward equitable work environments: What’s working, what’s not, what can we do? 2:05-3:30: Next Steps: Small group discussions and presentations 3:30-4:00: Closing statements 5:30-8:30: Reserved room someplace for dinner and drinks! *Swag bags, t-shirts, and raffle prizes!* We are in the process of reserving a block of rooms for any out-of-towners!
