5:30-6:00 pm: Dinner and Welcome 6:00-6:30 pm: Orientation 6:30-7:30 pm: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training Our programming is successful because of volunteers such as yourself! Come check out the variety of opportunities to volunteer with SpeakUp ReachOut in our events and in-school programming. This orientation includes a brief overview of the organization, information on ways to get involved and volunteer your time. This orientation also includes a Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) Training, an award-winning, evidenced based, early-intervention approach to suicide prevention. This educational program is designed to teach lay and "gatekeepers" the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. In this training we cover the background of QPR, local statistics, how to "ask the question", as well as local behavioral health resources. There will also be an opportunity for Q and A, and we are happy to stay after the training to chat and answer questions. Ages 18 and up are welcome and registration is required.
