IRS Tax help needed ASAP

I need help as this tax situation is the first of its kind for me. I had several years of unfiled tax returns and was earlier this year contacted by the IRS. I worked for a foreign government and was paid in their currency. I submitted the country's equivalent of W2 to the IRS. The IRS then calculates the takes as if I was being paid in US dollars when that was not the case. As a result, I have found myself owing thousands in taxes. I would love to appeal this decision but don't know where to start. I need your help!
