Please join Save Our Cemeteries and the Pitot House to celebrate St. John’s Eve on June 23rd, 2022 at 6 PM at the Pitot House. Local historian and author Sally Asher will deliver a lecture on Marie Laveau, her influence on New Orleans culture, and the history of St. John’s Eve. Afterward, you are welcome to stroll over less than a block away to the Magnolia Bridge to join Sallie-Ann Glassman of the Healing Center for her annual Headwashing Ceremony (a form of Vodou baptism) dedicated to Marie Laveau. We encourage you to wear all white with a white scarf for your head. The PRICE includes the lecture, a glass of wine (additional glasses will be available at a minimal charge), and a gris-gris bag to use as an offering for the ceremony.
