Pines Village Retirement Communities and the City of Valparaiso invite the public to attend an inspirational event recognizing Veterans Day. Our keynote speaker is US Marine Corps Veteran Dakota Meyer, the first living Marine to have received the medal since 1973 and one of the youngest. A Veteran Service Resource Fair will precede the keynote. During the Battle of Ganjigal, which was part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Meyer’s actions helped save the lives of many American and Afghan troops.
