Join us for the celebration of Juneteenth, which falls on the weekend of the grand reopening the Madam Walker Legacy Center. Indiana Avenue is celebrating this weekend in style. Here at the Vonnegut Library, enjoy free admission that day, make and take art with celebrated artist Rebecca Robinson, take home a free hula hoop, play ping-pong, and enjoy our speakers and musicians. IUPUI’s Lasana Kazembe will give a talk titled “The History (and Future) of Juneteenth” at 11 a.m. Performances include the Christopher Pitts Trio and a drum circle with Helger Oomkes, Shalon Robinson, Brian Hoover, and Davion Porter. The whole Avenue is celebrating!
