Whether walking dogs, cuddling cats, taking photos, wrangling the database, or chairing events—dedicated volunteers are integrated into our daily operations so we can save more lives than we otherwise could! This one hour session is your first step in volunteering at Berkeley Humane! You'll learn about our organization, available volunteer opportunities, and how to get started as a volunteer. Volunteers who are 12 - 15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian who is also registered. We require that all current and new volunteers are vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. We will ask for full vaccination records prior to the orientation. All volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month for 6 months. Community service volunteers and those completing volunteer hours for school are accepted on a case by case basis.
