North Shore Pride Parade, Festival Return To Salem

SALEM, MA — A full day of activities celebrating the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the entire North Shore is coming back to Salem for 2022 in two weeks. The North Shore Pride Parade will start at noon with Salem police closing some streets downtown. The parade will depart at noon from Shetland Office Park toward Congress Street. Paraders will then turn left on Derby Street and then right onto Central Street. From Central Street, the route goes to Front Street, Front Street to Washington Street and then a right on Essex Street. From Essex, the parade will march to Washington Square West into Salem Common. "Parade route streets will be closed during the parade as participants make their way along the route and then re-opened after they pass," Salem police said. "Anticipate traffic impacts and please plan accordingly." The parade will be part of a day of activities in downtown Salem with a Pride Festival in Salem Common on North Washington Square from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be an adult after-party and youth after-party. The after-party for those 21+ will be at the Marine Beer Garden on Derby Street from 5 to 9 p.m. The North Shore Pride Youth After Party will take place at the NAGLY Center at 2 East India Square at 5 p.m. Residents from throughout the North Shore are invited to attend.
