Hello! We are a drummer (Ben), rhythm guitarist/bass (Nithin), lead guitarist/vox (Brett), and bassist/vox (Dan) and we are on the hunt for another vocalist that can also play guitar or bass. The idea is that we could potentially rotate positions. However we are open to finding just a vocalist or just a guitarist. For influences see keywords at the bottom. Background: Ben and Brett were originally a part of a band called Machine Zero and had been gaining a local audience playing shows around the Bay Area and Northern California from 2016-2017. In the wake of all that, and the COVID shut down, things dissolved and changed. Fast forward to now, Ben and Brett with addition of Nithin and Dan have decided to get back to former glory days with a fresh slate. We have begun to develop new material similar to Machine Zero, only with new bells and whistles, and are looking to do a new spin as a 5-piece. Several of us write lyrics and have a wide range of topics that can be about social topics, spiritualism, escapism, existentialism, philosophy, and dark or satirical connotations. Ultimately we like to think of ourselves as a conscious band and we would like to find a singer that has similar drive and consciousness. Additionally with the music biz' being very much a daunt, we find it helps to bring a general sense of positive energy to musical projects dipped with a dose of hard work and understanding. We encourage everyone in the band to bring songs/riffs/ideas to the table. It is alright if you don’t necessarily write songs but we are looking for someone who at least has the aptitude to help with the writing process. Understanding any bit of music theory can be helpful with the communication between band mates. We do find ourselves playing in compound time a lot as well as songs that shift between tempos and time signatures. But then again we do play in 4/4 when called for. We are seasoned musicians and would like to find a guitarist/vocalist close to the same level. We all have professional gear and each member is responsible for their own gear/rig. We have a shared studio in East Oakland and our current practice schedule is Sunday evenings (with some flexibility). Band members will be expected to contribute to renting the studio once we’ve established a functional working relationship. We do expect band members to help with all things band related such as: finding gigs, recording, merch, outreach, promotion, social media, etc. We find there’s a better chance of success if we’re all working towards the same goal. If you have industry connections even better. Please share links or provide examples to any projects/bands you’ve worked on before. We find it helps to get a sense of where you’re coming from as a musician. If there is a mutual interest we would then have you come in and jam with us. We are all laid back but driven to succeed as musicians. The goal is to record albums and eventually get some tours going. Let us know if you’re interested in joining us.
