Description

Hello Craigslist! My name is Farley and I play with a band called Feefawfum. We are playing weird, mathy rock music inspired by bands like Deerhoof and Black midi and stuff like that. We are currently a quartet of two guitars, bass, and drums, but our beloved drummer will soon be departing the Bay Area and we are looking to continue as a quartet. That could mean that either 1). you join and play drums or 2). you join and play guitar and I (singer/guitarist) will switch to drums. Whoa! We're pretty open—we're mostly just looking for someone who is fun to be around, likes the music, and wants to be involved with the project. After we vibe it out a bit we can compare notes on our life goals playing niche rock music. We have some videos up on our YouTube page of recent performances. This will give you an idea of what we sound like! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLYo0fycECmonYMJnOMHBcQ/videos You can also find us on Instagram, which is where we're most socially active: https://www.instagram.com/feefawfumband/ There is an upcoming album that's ready to go. My ideal situation would be starting with learning the parts on the recordings, modifying them as suits your playing style, and then writing new material together as a band. If you like the style from the videos I will send you some recordings from the album to work through and we can try things out! I can also tab/transcribe things for you if that's helpful, and we could just meet up to go over it by ear. Everybody learns differently! Probably pertinent: we rehearse in San Francisco, currently on Mondays, but are planning to move to the East Bay once we find a new location (the three continuing members are all in Berkeley/Oakland). Generally aiming to play within the Bay Area 1-2 times a month and are starting to work up to taking the music on the road. Huge plusses: * You can improvise. * You can sing (or screech, or whatever) * You like both poppy and weird/experimental stuff * You are not a terribly self-serious person If this sounds interesting please shoot me an email and tell me a bit about yourself. Please also send links to some things that you've played on if have that available. Also feel free to ask me questions! Byeeee!
