PALO ALTO, CA — The city of Palo Alto is deciding whether to expand the skate park at Greer Park, and will hold a virtual community meeting on Wednesday.
City staff will review the skatepark expansion concept and seek community input.
The skate park was added to Palo Alto in 1991 as the first public skate facility on the Peninsula. According to the city's website, the park had a tri-bowl design and was one of the most advanced public facilities in the state.
Greer Park, named after John Lucas Greer, was originally a 5-acre neighborhood park in 1965 but later expanded to a 22-acre multiuse area when the nearby population increased.
The meeting is hosted by the Palo Alto Public Works Department. It begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Contact Peter Jensen at [email protected] for information on how to join.
