Three Pennsylvania Republicans have submitted impeachment charges against Larry Krasner, Philadelphia's district attorney. In a statement, they said Krasner has allowed lawlessness and uncontrolled violence across the country. "Across the country, people are rising up to unchecked and uncontrolled violence and lawlessness. Radical politicians and district attorneys like Larry Krasner have allowed this," said Rep. Tim O'Neal.
The lawmakers argue that Larry Krasner is a cause of Philadelphia's increased lawlessness and violence. "Larry Krasner, as one of the reasons for lawlessness and violence in Philadelphia, has allowed criminals and lawbreakers to go unpunished," O'Neal said. The announcement comes as Larry Krasner faces continued condemnation for his office's handling of gun issues and violent crime.
The three representatives represent the Bronx, not Philadelphia. The city's mayor, Jim Kenney, believes there is something else motivating this move.
