Description
male Chinchilla born May 29th 2018. He has a custom built hardwood enclosure that is about 48x23x62. It includes a 15" Spinsafe wheel (a $100 high quality wheel), 2 hammocks, a couple tiles for cooling (great for placing in freezer on hot days), as well as 2 metal pans for potty boxes. He also has a glass water bottle and a ceramic food dish.
He comes with storage drawers with dust, hay, potty pellets, and food (you must continue buying the same type of food- Oxbow Essentials Chinchilla Food, its the red bag). As well as a metal dish for dust baths and a durable plastic tote for transportation.
He tolerates being held and is fine with being pet. He primarily pees in the potty boxes unless there is hay all over the floor or fabric on the floor. He was trained for a period of time to come where you tapped, so he could be trained to do so again.
I will only rehome to someone who has done extensive research on chinchilla care, as I am sad to see him go but cannot afford to take care of him anymore or give him the attention he deserves.
Asking for a rehoming fee of $300 for everything, Chinchilla and Enclosure must go together.
Enclosure will be moved to the front porch for pickup, but you will need numerous people to help you load it onto your trailer/uHaul as it is hardwood and extremely heavy. Located in Janesville, MN.
Side note- I prefer the custom enclosure over the ferret nation critter enclosures because it helps to keep the poop contained inside the enclosure and in my opinion it looks nicer. All of the wood inside the enclosure was just replaced last week, too.
