Sea Dwelling Creatures Inc. Large marine life import/export company seeking individuals that have a good work ethic and a desire for continuous learning. The Life Support Technician is responsible for performing daily inspections of all life support systems and components and maintaining all equipment in working order. You will get hands-on training from some of the best in the field. No experience necessary but aquatic life enthusiasts are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities/Duties: Provides continuous monitoring of all critical life support systems Performs daily inspections on all life support systems Performs preventive and emergency maintenance of all critical life support systems and associated equipment as needed Isolates, troubleshoots and coordinates the repair of faulty life support systems including pumps, aquarium system filtration, and LSS building controls equipment Performs or assists with the construction and fabrication of new life support systems Practices good judgment in decision-making as related to animal care, emergency situations, and projects, and communicates efficiently to the Husbandry Manager when their involvement is necessary. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications/Requirements Previous aquatic animal support experience in a private or public aquarium is highly desirable but not a requirement Pipe fitting and fabrication skills are highly desirable Work experience such as handyman, construction or mechanical experience are highly desirable Must possess sound judgment and ability to use common sense for effective decision-making Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Good communication skills and attention to detail and task completion are essential Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays as required. Valid driver's license is a plus Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to balance, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs Ability to pull and push up to 100lbs Ability to work at a variety of heights Compensation There is tremendous potential for growth and career opportunity within our company.
