Contractors building commercial projects in Central Oregon employ Union Carpenters and their Apprentices. Union Carpenter Apprentices start at about $26 per hour, plus benefits for the whole family and structured raises every 6 months. Apprenticeship is a four year "earn and learn" opportunity featuring paid On-the-Job-Training and related classes.
To develop future Apprentices, the Pacific NW Carpenters Institute is offering our Carpenter Trade Preparation class at our training center in Redmond. Carpenter Trade Prep (CTP) is a free, three-week Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program registered with the state of Oregon. Successful completers will be well-prepared to interview for a Registered Apprenticeship with PNCI.
Carpenter Trade Prep in Redmond is accepting applications now. The class meets 7am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday, from July 11 through July 29. The class includes both online learning and hands-on, in-person training. Books, tools and PPE provided. Must be 18 or older. Childcare and other support is available for pre-apprentices - your success is our goal.
CTP was developed to prepare women and others underrepresented in the construction industry to earn their spot in a Registered Apprenticeship, to start earning and learning. Successful completion of this program is a big step towards your new career as a Union Carpenter, earning a living wage with health benefits for your whole family.
