Part time Professional Gardening

Jobs

Seattle WA

Description

Looking to add a person to our gardening team for this summer and beyond if possible. Approximately 10 hours a week is desired. Quite flexible with timing and days on a week by week basis. Desired days of availability are Wednesday and Thursday. Location on these days is generally in Madison Park, Madrona and Leschi. Other neighborhoods worked are Beacon Hill, Columbia City, Seward Park, Cap Hill, Eastlake and sometimes Ballard area. Job includes a lot of weeding, raking, mowing with electric mower, spreading mulch and other general cleanup. In the fall- lotsa leaf raking! We usually work at multiple locations a day within a neighborhood or two. No need for a vehicle or tools if you don't have them. Just need to show up with your own gloves and ride along if need be. If you drive, there will be some driving in between jobs as we don't often end where we started. Looking for someone who has done this type of work on a professional basis and is comfortable working in the various weather types in Seattle. Shifts can be anywhere from 3-8 hours a day depending on everyone's schedule that day. So, looking for someone that lives locally and ready to jump in when time allows even if the shift isn't super long. Usually 5-6 hours is length so looking for someone two days a week. I would consider hiring someone that doesn't have any professional experience yet but is looking to do this as a career and wants to learn the business. Or, someone who has done this type of work before, not planning to do it forever but interested in using it to supplement other work goals. Depending on experience, hourly rate will rise. Most of the work is done at single family homes but there are also apartment/condominium properties to care for as well. When responding give general location of where you reside, your experience and reason of interest for the job. References are always good too. ALso, how long oyu are interested in the job. I am not opposed to shorter term if you have skills and ready to get things done for now. There are a lot of potential hours right now depending on your availability. The slower time of the summer is early- August to Mid September and there will be a couple weeks during that time that we will be not working at all.
