Description

Need to rehome my beautiful long haired male cat, Shadow. He showed up as a stray a year ago. After over a month of trying to find his owners, he became part of the family. The vet estimates about 3 years old but I wonder. He is normally a dark black/brown but has been turning more grey. Refuses to eat "normal" dry cat food. Only likes wet food, cooked meat (no seasonings), raw/cooked egg occasionally, cheese and small "kitten" kibble. Not too picky on flavor although he needs a higher quality, prefer grain free. He is an incredibly friendly, talkative cuddle bug. Worked on brushing, shaving, claws but is still very cranky about it. I usually need help to not get bit/clawed. He tries very hard to warn you. Loves to play, enjoys catnip amd is scratching post/cardboard trained. (May need reminding). 100% litter trained. Very intelligent. Knows no. Shadow, hungry, treat, come here, sit pretty, get down, stop that, behave. Likes to play with other cats but can be rough. Used to be thrilled to play with my medium sized dog but was recently terrorized by a stray dog and now needs trusting. Working on halter/leash training and car rides. Usually very tolerating of anyone. I pick him upside down and rub his belly and cuddle close and he is a purr machine. Even sometimes tolerating of outfits, hats. Likes bags, tunnels, blankets, boxes. Noisy cat toys or flashy ones. Rolling balls or trying to catch the feather/rope toy wand. He is an indoor/outdoor and a VERY good hunter. DO NOT recommend in a house with birds or small animals (bunnies, rats, etc). He has been trained to leave my chickens alone and my outdoor bunnies but he just gets that look in his eye. Almost always brings me a "present" when he's been out. I believe he would totally be fine indoor only providing attention, stimulation, room, etc. Utd on all vaccines, flea and neutered. Have all vet records. It utterly destroys me to let him go but with how toxic my home situation has turned, he is EXTREMELY unhappy and not fairing well both physically and emotionally. I will ask a zillion questions and strongly request his adoptive family keep me in the loop with photos or such. Expect me to bawl my eyes out when we meet to have you take him. Rehoming fee: $200
