My son and I have had our Bernese Mountain dog, Pepper, since she was a puppy, but I travel nearly 50% of the year and we've decided that maybe another family could reap the benefits of her sweet and well-behaved demeanor while offering her the companionship she's now missing.
A little about Pep:
-- She is (obviously) house trained, and she ALSO knows tricks--sit, shhh, laydown, speak, come, etc... (my mother was a dog trainer).
-- She understands boundaries such that I can leave the front door open or the back gate open and she doesn't leave.
-- She doesn't get into trash, is not food-motivated (doesn't eat people food or beg for it), and doesn't really bark unless asked to "speak".
-- She's motivated by snuggles and is friendly as all-get-out to anyone she's ever met.
-- She's smaller than she should be (~55lbs) and, although she's AKC certified, I've always wondered if she's actually a mixed breed.
-- She's 7, but most people are surprised to hear it, as she still has all the wiggles of a puppy.
-- $100 re-homing fee + interview about the house, and she's a part of your new family. We want her to be happy.
If you're interested, please contact me. I'm happy to give you her dog house and outdoor dog bed, too!
