College Students, physically fit, summer job installing LED lighting
Jobs
Monument CO
Description
Job starts now thru Aug 15, installing LED lighting upgrades on existing indoor lighting fixtures. Mostly daytime work, near Monument, CO, inside of public schools. This is a piece rate job, with a floor of $19 per hour. We will give you a 4 hour training class at $19 per hour. For the rest of the first 5 days, you will make either hourly or piece rate. At the end of the first week, if you aren't making more on piece rate than you would on hourly, then most likely this job is not for you. (But if you are physically fit, with good hand/eye coordination, and you don't mind being tired and sore at the end of a 10 hour day, you will have no problem.) The average guys on piece rate are making over $300/day, and the faster guys over $400. If you are involved in any kind of athletics or outdoor sports etc., it will take you no more than a week to reach this level. It is a repetitive job, doing the same thing over and over again to every lighting fixture. You install the LED upgrade package on one fixture, move your ladder to the next, and do the same thing. You'll be on a 6 or 8 foot ladder which we provide. Tools you'll need are cordless drill, Klein or Ideal wire strippers, reversible screwdriver, pliers, assorted nut drivers, plus hard hat and vest. (We could possibly loan you the money for the cordless drill, which is around $250, if everything else is perfect except you don't have a drill :) (In the real world, guys are expected to have their own tools, but since we are advertising for college students, we will work with you on this.) Also, we have limited lodging available in Monument if you are too far away to commute. We can conceivably compensate for mileage, and if you don't have transportation, we have guys coming down from Denver every day, and can arrange to pick you up. If you're in the Springs, you may be able to easily commute each day. Right now the job is Monday thru Friday, but may go to 6 days per week as the Aug 15 completion deadline approaches. In your response, you can attach a resume if you have a current one. But please tell me a little about yourself, and based on the write up here, why you think you might be a good candidate for the job. Thanks! :)
