How come most people refuse to see the truth? Yes, they are afraid, but they are also selfish. They don’t want anything that threatens the narcissistic image of themselves that they have created. Human nature is self-focused and self-worshiping. Man has set himself up as his own god. Anything that threatens our pitiful view of ourselves is reflexively ejected, shunned, mocked, labeled as foolishness, etc. It takes great humility to admit that you are not right, and unfortunately, humility is rare.
