OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — A seventh member of the Haiti delegation taking part in the Special Olympics USA Games in Kissimmee has vanished.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, Louis Jacques Wilguens, 25, was last seen getting off a bus at the All-Star Sports Resort at 1799 West Buena Vista Dr. around 4:40 p.m. Saturday.
Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez said Wilguens was scheduled to fly back to Haiti early Sunday morning but has not been seen since getting off the bus.
He was last spotted wearing red sandals, blue jeans and a white Special Olympics Shirt with Haiti written on it, the sheriff's office said.
Anyone with information regarding Wilguens' whereabouts is asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or by dialing 911.
Credit: Osceola County Sheriff's Office Last Wednesday, six members from the Haitian Special Olympics team also went missing.
Special Olympics Haiti issued a statement following their disappearance:
"The well-being of these delegates is our foremost concern. Local authorities have indicated they have no reason to believe the health and safety of any of the individuals is at risk. To expand the reach and effectiveness of law enforcement's efforts to locate these individuals, they have been reported as missing persons," a portion of the statement read.
