Description
Shailo is around 2 years old. He's a beautiful dog and a loyal friend. He is house-trained, crate-trained if needed (although I leave his crate door open at all times because I can trust him not to be destructive when alone), does not bark excessively, loves all people and is great with kids. He is the perfect dog except for one thing--he is reactive towards other animals and cannot safely cohabitate with my two cats. I've kept the animals separated since I adopted Shailo from a shelter 4 months ago, but that is only a temporary solution until I can rehome him. I don't want to return him to the shelter I adopted him from because there is a good chance they would euthanize him.
He will make a great friend for life in a single-pet home. He has made incredible strides in the past four months in terms of training and reactivity. He walks well on a leash beside or behind you (although this still needs to be reinforced on each walk) and knows all the basics--sit, stay, lay down, shake, etc. He knew nothing when I got him from the shelter. I believe he was mostly kept as an outside dog by the previous owner, but he is very smart and eager-to-please, so he's learned fast. He just needs a loving master to unlock his full potential.
$150 adoption fee is negotiable for the right home. Crate, pad, food bowls, toys and everything will be included, of course.
