Teen Shot Saturday Night On Starr St. Dropped Off At Firehouse: Police

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 17-year-old from New Haven shot Saturday night was brought to a local fire station for help, police said. Just after 9 p.m., police were alerted to gunfire on Starr Street, between Shelton Avenue and Newhall Street, spokesperson Scott Shumay said. The teen, struck by gunfire, was driven in a private car to the Dixwell firehouse, where first responders there attended to him. He was then taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and listed in stable condition, Shumway said. Ballistic evidence was collected from the scene and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
