NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 6 through June 12. The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Arrest Chase Catapano, 27, of Port Jefferson, was seen screaming and raising both of his hands while walking in the roadway on Main Street around 5:15 p.m. on June 6, police said. An officer walked over to Catapano, and Catapano said, "F--- you," and "I'll fight you right now," police said. The officer tried to calm Catapano down, but Catapano lunged with his right hand, striking the officer's left shoulder, police said. Catapano resisted arrest by pulling his arms towards the front of his body, police said. Catapano was brought to the ground, where he continued to resist by keeping his arms out towards his side and kicking his legs, police said. Catapano was told not to resist anymore or he would be given a drive stun with a Taser, police said. Catapano did not listen, and he was Tased, police said. Catapano then complied and was arrested, police said. Catapano was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree harassment: physical contact, third-degree menacing, disorderly conduct, and pedestrians yield to vehicles. Incidents A bullet was found on Laurel Avenue on June 6. Police destroyed the bullet.A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked in the dockmaster's parking spot in Municipal Lot #1 on June 6.A woman on June 8 reported a gift card scam. She told police she was aware of the previously reported scam regarding another member of her church when she received an identical text message from the same number also requesting gift cards. The woman, aware the text was a scam, did not respond to the message. She said her pastor sent out a mass email to the entire church informing all members of the scam.A boat trailer was reported stolen at Scudder Park on June 9.A woman fainted at The Whales Tale on June 9. Northport Rescue helped her.A summons was issued to the driver of a car blocking a Bayview Avenue driveway on June 10.A summons was issued to the driver of an illegally parked vehicle in Municipal Lot #1 on June 11.Police found an intoxicated man stumbling on the sidewalk of Main Street on June 12. Police tried to get the man an ambulance to take him to the hospital, but the man refused medical attention. Instead, police got him a cab to a motel.An injured skunk found on Clipper Drive was euthanized by police on June 12.A summons was issued to the driver of an illegally parked vehicle on Bluff Point Road on June 12.
